Sorry, I just can't get the image to display at full size for some reason. I would love to hear from some of the real noise reduction experts on this forum.ĭon't think so. The NR program that I would really like to see make big improvements in Dfine, as I love Nik's whole approach to photo editing. Software just keeps getting better and better. To be honest, although I have been using TDN since version 4, I have always considered it a bit of a pain. The final results from both programs are very good, but at this point, I am more inclined to choose NW, and this is after testing it only for a short period of time. NW's frequency sliders are surprisingly useful, as are the color sliders.

I also think that TDN is more prone to produce blotchiness. The effects of slider changes are seen almost immediately, as opposed to Topaz, which must take several seconds to render the image after each adjustment. However, I find Noiseware to be more intuitive and easier to use. As with almost any piece of software, the results are highly dependent upon the user's skill, and I make no claim to be a wizard with either program.

I have been having some fun today playing with NW and TDN on some K-5 shots taken at ISO 6400 and 12,800. Is there a difference between what 2.6 standalone and v5 the plugin can do?I don't know the answer to that question, but you can contact Imagenomic and ask them.
